CF d'ETAT - 4523 - one of 30 2-cylinder compound 2-8-0's built in 1909 for freight duties.
CF d'ORLEANS - 'A Study in Swirling Steam' - The Chemin de Fer d'Orleans was created in 1872 and in 1891 was absorbed by the Chemin de Fer de l'Ouest. The mainline ran from Orleans to Rouen. Posted October 4th, 1912.
CF d'ORLEANS - 'The express from Bordeaux to Clermont-Ferrand links the Auvergne with the South West of France, crossing the very picturesque regions of Perigueux, Brive and the famous thermal resorts of la Bourboule and Mont-Dore, on the branch line to Laqueuille, and Royat. The journey takes 11 hours 30 minutes and it generally carries through coaches in both directions.' The Chemin de Fer d'Orleans was created in 1872 and in 1891 was absorbed by the Chemin de Fer de l'Ouest. The mainline ran from Orleans to Rouen. Posted October 2nd, 1912.
CF d'ORLEANS - 'The express from Paris to Mont-Dore, by the shortest route (Vierzon, Montducour, Eygorande) offers a double direct service day and night between June 8th and September 20th. It includes cars of all classes and generally bed-bathroom cars in each direction of travel. The journey takes 8 hours and 30 minutes'. CF de ALSACE & LORRAINE - 501 - the first of 54 Class S3 4-4-0 2-cylinder compounds built by Grafenstaden between 1902 and 1913, at a time when Alsace & Lorraine were still German territory. However, it would appear that this loco has been rebuilt at some point as 4-cylinder De Glehn Compound - seen here at Strasburg in 1925.
CF de ALSACE & LORRAINE - 1344 - 60 of these Class S14 4-6-2's were built for CFAL in 1922, 40 passing to SNCF in 1938 as Class 231B3 - seen hewre at Strasburg, 08/25.
CF de ALSACE & LORRAINE - 4343 - Prussian State Railways Class G7 0-8-0, 1054 built between 1902 and 1913 - to France after World War 1 as reparations, 64 going to the CFAL alone, and all withdrawn by 1938 - seen here at Strasburg, 08/25.
CF de GRANDE CEINTURE - 4-6-0T, 4-cylinder compound, designed by du Bousquet in collaboration with Robaglia, Chief Engineer of the Ceinture Ry, built 1912. It was possible to switch from tandem to simple working working with a compressed air driven servo-motor attached to the regulator handle - seen here at Bobigny Depot, 08/35.
CF de L'EST - 0 433 - a long boiler 0-6-0, one of a class of 129 built from 1870 for goods traffic.
