BKV-BHEV - 88 - one of a class of 10 locomotives built by Ganz-MAVAG between 1943 to 1951 for freight services and engineering duties on the suburban railway/tramway. Six remain in service, including 88 seen in 1996.
BKV-METRO - T212 003 - 0-4-0 shunter built 1973 by CKD Martin, CSD Class T212, modified for tunnel work - bought secondhand from Prague Transit Authority in 1993 - seen here at Kipest Depot, 28/05/03, with XpDM 1071, modified UDJ unit for tunnel work, built 1989.
BKV-SFV - 54/64 - 7 2-car rack units built in 1974 by SGP, semi-permanently coupled to matching trailers, nos 61-67 - line built in 1874 using the Riggenbach System, the Svabhegyi Fogaskerekij Vast (Svab Hill rack railway) runs from just opposite the 'Budapest Hotel' on a route 3.7km long to the top of Szechenyi-Hegy, just a few hundred metres from the terminus of the Children's Railway. The line was electrified in 1973. My train pulls into the base station, 30/08/05. All trains propel uphill.
