THE RISE OF THE NAZI PARTY.

This series of cards was issued in the 1933 to celebrate the successes of the Nazi Party by the Bahrenfeld Company of Hamburg. When a pack of Altona cigarettes was purchased. a coupon was found inside that could be sent to the company which issued the album and a packet of these photographs that would then pasted in to the album. When the book was complete, the proud patriotic family would have a highly thought-of souvenir that chronicled the history of the Kampfzeit (struggle to power). There would appear to be several hundred pictures in the six separate series and I have only these few. They are of medium format, on poor quality paper and do not scan particularly well. There is no direct clue as to their origin but I suspect that they were published by a newspaper. The are entitled 'GERMANY AWAKE: The Beginning of the Struggle and Victory of the NSDAP'. I have done my best with the German captions but apologies in advance!
