1. FASCIST GERMANY

THE RISE OF THE NAZI PARTY.

This series of cards was issued in the 1933 to celebrate the successes of the Nazi Party by the Bahrenfeld Company of Hamburg. When a pack of Altona cigarettes was purchased. a coupon was found inside that could be sent to the company which issued the album and a packet of these photographs that would then pasted in to the album. When the book was complete, the proud patriotic family would have a highly thought-of souvenir that chronicled the history of the Kampfzeit (struggle to power). There would appear to be several hundred pictures in the six separate series and I have only these few. They are of medium format, on poor quality paper and do not scan particularly well. There is no direct clue as to their origin but I suspect that they were published by a newspaper. The are entitled 'GERMANY AWAKE: The Beginning of the Struggle and Victory of the NSDAP'. I have done my best with the German captions but apologies in advance! These pictures are published for pleasure/information/research purposes only and are not for sale or copy under any circumstances. Information in captions has been researched as thoroughly as possible but it accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
