  • Class 319 - 319 020 - 4-car 3rd rail/ohl EMU, used initially to replace DMU stock on Bedford - St Pancras and, after opening of Snow Hill Tunnel, to Brighton - seen here in about 1989 when new.
  • Class 321 - 48 of these 4-car 100mph Class 321/4 were built by BREL, York, in 1989/90 for Euston outer suburban services to Northampton, Rugby and Birmingham via the WCML and Northampton Loop - nicknamed 'Dusty Bins'.
  • Class 401 - 2004 - 2BIL 2-car EMU, one of 152 sets built between 1935 and 1938 by Lancing and Eastleigh Works for Eastbournes, Portamouth and Reading semi-fast services. 2004 was allocated to Eastbourne services. All were withdrawn by 1969.
  • Class 402 - 002 - 2HAL 2-car EMU, 100 units built from 1939 and all withdrawn by 1971 - several were converted to De-Icing/Sandite Units on withdrawal.
  • Class 402 - 2663 - 2Hal EMU, one off 77 built in 1938 for local services on the newly electrified lines to Maidstone and Gillingham, and all withdrawn by 1971.
  • Class 403 - 3052 - SR 5 BEL 5-car Pullman units used on the 'Brighton Belle - 3 built in 1932, 2 for service, one spare - withdrawn in 1972 - all but one vehicle peserved - seen here at Purley Oaks in 1964.
  • Class 404 - 3049 - built  from 1937 as 4Cor units for Portsmouth Line services. In 1964, some of these units were disbanded and ten were reformed as 6Cor units, 3049 being one of them. Last units in service were withdrawn in 1972.
