Pictures in this gallery are of tickets for enthusiast rail tours of various sorts, including photographs, programmes, brochures and flyers where I have them. I have attempted to differentiate them into enthusiast specials and trains that were mere excursions of interest to the general public as well, probably not entirely successfully!   • RAIL TOUR - 'DENTON MINES RAIL TOUR' - oraganised by the RCTS East Midlands Branch and run on July 6th, 1957, It ran from Denton Loco Depot on the Harston Ironstone Tramway to Denton Exchange Sidings and return, using 0-6-0ST BELVOIR and open wagons.

Motive power throughout was Standard Class 2P 2-6-2T No.84008, seen here at Codnor Park Station showing the M965 headcode. Coaching stock was a 3-coach push/pull set. It is seen here at Derby Midland prior to departure.   • RAIL TOUR - 'DERWENT VALLEY LIGHT RAILWAY' - organised by the Branch Line Society and run on May 17th, 1958. 65064 was the sole motive power and is seen here at Dunnington on May 17th, 1958, on the outward journey.   • RAIL TOUR - 'DIESEL EXCURSION' - Run by the Westminster Bank Railway Society on March 21st, 1954, this trip included a tour round Swindon Works. Transport provided for the tour was GWR railcars Nos.W33 and W38 either side of a trailer - must have been quite a novelty back then.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'DONCASTER ROVER No.2' - Run by the LCGB on January 21st, 1979, in heavy snow, the tour commenced by DMU from Liverpool Lime Street to Allerton due to engineering works. At Allerton, 40106 took over and ran as follows:-<br /> <br /> Allerton - Manchester Piccadilly - Stockport - Guide Bridge - Dinting - Woodhead - Sheffield Victoria - Woodburn Jn - Tinsley Yard - Treeton North Jn - Aldwarke Jn - Doncaster - Break here for tour of Works - Doncaster - Hare Park Jn - Wakefield Kirkgate - Healey Mills - Huddersfield - OA & GB Jn - Stockport - Manchester Piccadilly [P14] - Liverpool Lime Street
  • RAIL TOUR - 'DUKERIES LIMITED' - Run by the Branch Line Society on October 22nd, 1977, this tour took a very roundabout route through London to get to Lincoln. The tour ran as follows:-<br /> <br /> 25081+25069 - London Euston - Wembley Central <br /> 47290 - Wembley Central - Kensal Green Jn - Harringay Park Jn - Ferme Park - Peterborough - Spalding - Sleaford avoider - Lincoln avoider - Pyewipe Jn - Edwinstowe - Elmton & Cresswell - Shireoaks - Beighton Jn - Chesterfield - Trowell Jn - Lenton North Jn - Trent - Sheet Stores Jn - Stenson Jn - Burton-on-Trent - Kingsbury Jn - Whitacre Jn - Landor Street Jn - Lifford West Jn - Birmingham New Street - Bordesley Jn - Banbury - High Wycombe - London Paddington.<br /> <br /> As can be seen, it did not follow the published route and was supposed to terminate at St Pancras, not at Paddington.

Seen here at Axminster on the supplementary tour are Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T's Nos.41206 (leading) and 41291.   • RAIL TOUR - 'EAST LONDON SPECIAL' - organised by the RCTS, this tour ran on April 14th, 1951. The engines used were E8619, 47300 and 64647 but there is some doubt as to which sections of the tour the latter two actually hauled, although here we see 47300 at Stratford which would suggest that it hauled the last leg.   • RAIL TOUR - 'FENBASHER' - Organised and run by Hertfordshire Rail Tours on July 25th, 1981, a re-run of a tour cancelled on July 4th. The tour travelled in Class 115 DMU 51670/59657/59665/51895, due to the large number of reversals required, seen here arriving at Wisbech Goods Yard, Redland depot on the right, Metal Box factory behind the DMU.
