I have attempted to differentiate them into enthusiast specials and trains that were mere excursions of interest to the general public as well, probably not entirely successfully!   • RAIL TOUR - 'THE WHITE ROSE' - organised by Days Out Ltd and run on May 10th, 1998. 60532 BLUE PETER, fresh from overhaul, passes Huntingdon. 47732 RESTORMEL was on the rear. The train was hauled back by D9000 ROYAL SCOTS GREY. The tour ran as follows:-<br /> <br /> 60532 - Finsbury Park - Grantham - Nottingham - Sheffield - Aldwarke Junction - Mexborough - Doncaster - York<br /> D9000 - York - (via ECML) - London Kings Cross<br /> <br /> Outward leg diverted via Nottingham due to ECML closure south of Newark.<br /> Return leg was booked via Gainsborough and Lincoln but went straight down the ECML.

  • RAIL TOUR - 'TRANSRAIL BESCOT' - This tour was organised by the Crewe Rail Events Committee as part of North Wales Coast Motive Power Day on May 20th, 1995. 20075 SIR WILLIAM COOKE and 20128 GUGLIEMO MARCONI, both operated by the Technical Services Department, had hauled this train as 1T76/1T77 from Crewe to Chester to Llandudno and back. They are seen here at Llandudno.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'TUBULAR BELLE' - Run by Hertfordshire Railtours on April 2nd, 1988, The tour, 1T07, ran as follows:-<br /> <br /> 85011 London Euston - (WCML via Weedon)- Crewe <br /> 40122 Crewe - Rhyl - Llandudno Junction - Llandudno <br /> 47287 Llandudno shunt <br /> 40122 Llandudno - Bleanau Ffestiniog - Llandudno Junction - Bangor - Holyhead - Llandudno Junction - Rhyl - Chester - Crewe <br /> 85006 Crewe - (WCML via Weedon) - London Euston <br /> <br /> Both Class 85's were permitted to do 100mph. 40122 was withdrawn on April 18th.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'TYNE TEES PULLMAN' - 60007 SIR NIGEL GRESLEY stands in Kings Cross Station shortly after arrival on June 11th, 1995. Amazingly, I have been unable to find any details of this tour.
