  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (1) - On September 9th, 1956, RCTS ran the highly complicated 'Fensman No.2' Tour. This ticket is for Portion 1 of the Tour and ran as follows:-<br />
Crab No.42784 with 4 coaches - Nottingham Midland - Beeston - Trent - Loughborough - Syston North Jn - Syston East Jn - Melton Mowbray - Stamford - Peterborough North, where it combined with the 6 coaches of Portion 2, having arrived from Kings Cross behind K3 No.61942. The Tour then continued as follows:-<br />
B1 No.61391 with 10 coaches from Peterborough North - Whittlesea.<br />
 J17 No.65562 with open wagons from Whittlesea - Three Horse Shoes - Benwick - Three Horse Shoes - Whittlesea. <br />
B1 No.61391 with 10 coaches from Whittlesea - March West Jn - Whitemoor Jn - Wisbech East. <br />
Drewry 0-6-0DM 11102 with open wagons from Wisbech East - Upwell - Wisbech East. <br />
B1 No.61391 with 10 coaches from Wisbech East - Sleaford South Jn - Sleaford North Jn. <br />
K2 No.61743 with 10 coaches from Sleaford North Jn - Sleaford - Bourne - Twenty - Cuckoo Jn - Spalding. <br />
The train then split again 61942 returning to Kings Cross with its 6 coaches and 42784 to Nottingham Midland with its 4.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (2) - 42784 - Hughes LMS Class 5F Crab 2-6-0 - built 09/27 by Crewe Works as LMS No.13084 - 11/35 to LMS No.2784, 07/48 to BR No.42784 - 12/62 withdrawn from 21A Saltley - seen here at Luffenham Junction on the return journey to Nottingham Midland with the RCTS 'The Fensman No.2' Railtour, 09/09/56.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (3) - 61743 - Gresley GNR/LNER Class K2 4-6-0 - built 06/16 by Doncaster Works as GNR No.1653 - 02/25 to LNER No.4653, 05/46 to LNER No.1743, 05/48 to BR No.61743 - 06/59 withdrawn from 40F Boston - seen here at Spalding at the head of the RCTS 'Fensman No.2' tour, having just hauled the train from Sleaford - Bourne - Spalding, 09/09/56. It came off here in favour of Class K3 No.61942 which hauled six coaches back to Kings Cross and 42784 which took the other four back to Nottingham Midland.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (4) - 61391 - Thompson LNER Class B1 4-6-0 - built 12/51 by North British Loco Co., Works No.26850 - 09/62 withdrawn from 35A New England - this loco had worked from Peterborough to Whittlesea (for Benwick), then Whittlesea to Wisbech East (for the Wisbech & Upwell TRrmway) and then from Wisbech East to Sleaford North Junction, where it was replaced by Class K2 No.61743. Class 04 diesel No.11102 proudly wears the headboard for the tramway section, September 9th, 1956.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (5) - Class 04 diesel No.11102 takes the tight bend at Newcommon Bridge and heads off down Elm  High Road for Upwell, September 9th, 1956. I used to live and work about 200 yards to the right of the camera.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (6) - The passengers climb onto their deluxe accommodation at Upwell Depot - not much to see there. The loco has run round and is ready to head back to Wisbech East, September 9th, 1956.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (7) - 11102 - Drewry 0-6-0 DM Shunter - built 06/52 by Drewry & Co.  - 01/58 to D2202 - withdrawn 02/68 withdrawn from Crewe Works - this was a 31B loco from new to September 1966 - seen here 'suited and booted' at Upwell Depot on the Tramway leg of the 'Fensman No.2' Rail Tour on September 9th, 1956.
  • RAIL TOUR - 'FENSMAN No.2' (8) - This is the trip along the goods only Benwick Branch from Three Horseshoes Junction behind Class J17 No.65562 on September 9th, 1956. Taken just before No.9 I think.

  • RAIL TOUR - 'FEN TIGER' - organised by Hertfordshire Rail Tours and the Southern Electric Group and run on July 12th, 1986. The train ran as 1Z25 and was composed of DMU sets L412 (51389+59499+51347) and L424 (51362+59514+51404) and is seen here at Middleton Towers. The route was as follows :-<br />
