ST. LEONARDS LOCOMOTIVE DEPOT (74E) - St. Leonards Depot was built by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway in 1872 and was a brick-built four road shed, with three through roads, to be found on the north side of the station. In January 1947, it had an allocation of 29 engines, 19 of then being 4-4-0's of various classes including 11 Class V 'Schools' for express services. Of the remainder, 5 were 0-6-0's and 4 were Class D1 0-4-2T's, the other being a Class R1 0-6-0T. The Depot closed June 1958. Seen here before 1948 are Class L1 No.1759 of Brighton and Class C 0-6-0No.1041 of Ashford.
