FENLAND CLASS 31
Included here are pictures all taken between Peterborough East Junction and Ely North Junction, all of the Queen Adelaide crossings included and the erstwhile Wisbech Branch. Some of the old 35mm slides from the '80's are a bit blurry but then those were the days of 65ASA film, 1/125th and Focus DIY. These are probably best looked at in large format. These pictures are published for pleasure/information/research purposes only and are not for sale or copy under any circumstances. Information in captions has been researched as thoroughly as possible but its accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

31135 and 31290 drag past Horsemoor Box on a long Class 9 engineer's train, 07/02/87. Built as D5553, it became 31135 in January 1973. It was the first of the class to be allocated to Old Oak Common for ECS work into Paddington after the withdrawal of it dreadful predecessors, hence the Hymek-esque cab surrounds. It was withdrawn in February 2000 and scrapped. 31290 was built as D5822, became 31290 in January 1973, was also withdrawn in February 2000 and scrapped. Hardly anything in this picture survives, not even the tree!
