FENLAND CLASS 37

Included here are pictures all taken between Peterborough East Junction and Ely North Junction, all of the Queen Adelaide crossings included and the erstwhile Wisbech Branch. Some of the old 35mm slides from the '80's are a bit blurry but then those were the days of 65ASA film, 1/125th and Focus DIY. These are probably best looked at in large format.   • 37797 sits on March Depot, 07/87. 37797 was built as D6781 in 1962 and renumbered to 37081 in February 1974. In October 1986, after heavy general overhaul, it was renumbered 37797. It was withdrawn in February 2003 and scrapped.
  • 37800 CASSIOPEIA and 47813 JACK FROST approach Badgeney Road AHB on 5L46 Doncaster Wabtec - Ely North Junction with 3 HST carriages for storage, 16/08/19.
  • 37800 CASSIOPEIA approaches Whitemoor Drove AHB running as 0M59 Ely North Junction - Leicester, 17/05/18. Earlier in the day, it had hauled 365 507 and 365 515 from Hornsey EMU Depot to Papworth's Sidings at Ely North Junction for storage.
  • 37800 CASSIOPEIA passes Welney Road AHB as 0M57 Ely North Junction - Derby, 09/06/22. It had spent the last couple of days dragging surplus Class 317's from Cambridge to storage at Papworth's.
  • 37800 CASSIOPEIA passes Whitemoor Drove AHB on 5Z46 Worksop Up Reception Sidings - Ely North Junction with 465 238 in tow, bound for storage, 16/12/21. This is a repeat of the same working yesterday with the same loco and 465 249.

  • 37800 passes Whitemoor Road as 0L52 Derby RTC - Clacton CSD, presumably en route to collect some decommissioned GA Class 321's, 05/04/23. Thence it will run as 5Q35 to Walton Old Junction Sidings and then return as 0M57 to Derby.
  • 37800, apparently no longer named CASSIOPEIA, passes Silt Road UOLC on 0L46 Derby RTC - Ely North Junction (Papworth's), 06/02/23.
  • 37884 CEPHEUS, c/w 465 912, approaches Badgeney Road AHB on 5Q24 Ely North Junction Papworths - Doncaster Works Wabtec with 465 912 in tow, 23/09/22.
