FENLAND CLASS 37

Included here are pictures all taken between Peterborough East Junction and Ely North Junction, all of the Queen Adelaide crossings included and the erstwhile Wisbech Branch. Some of the old 35mm slides from the '80's are a bit blurry but then those were the days of 65ASA film, 1/125th and Focus DIY. These are probably best looked at in large format. 37422 in tow of 57008 passes Tufts No.1 OC on 0Z79 Oakham - Norwich, 01/10/15. 37422 had been dispatched yesterday to collect a stoneblower from Market Harborough for onward transmission to Ashford but had expired at Oakham, hence the rescue mission.

  • 37419 CARL HAVILAND passes Badgeney Road AHB, March, on 0Z19 Stowmarket - Crewe Gresty Bridge, 02/03/23. 37425 will take it's place at Stowmarket.
  • 37419 CARL HAVILAND with 57002 DIT approaches Horsemoor on 5Z24 Norwich - Crewe with ecs from the Short Set, 08/03/17.
  • 37419 on March Depot, 25/12/85, a long way from home in Inverness for Christmas. 37419 was built as D6991 in 1965 and renumber to 37291 in March 1974. It was ETHed and renumbered to 37419 in December 1985, just three weeks before this picture. It was withdrawn in December 2010 and in May 2012 was sold to DRS where it remains in traffic.
  • 37422 brings up the rear 0Z55 Norwich Crown Point - Crewe Gresty Lane with 37425, 37605 providing the power, as they pass Horsemoor on a dull 27/03/18.
