Included here are pictures all taken between Peterborough East Junction and Ely North Junction, all of the Queen Adelaide crossings included and the erstwhile Wisbech Branch. Some of the old 35mm slides from the '80's are a bit blurry but then those were the days of 65ASA film, 1/125th and Focus DIY. These are probably best looked at in large format. Class 153 311 passes Whitemoor Road AHB on 2Z10 Derby RTC - Manningtree Down Siding, 07/03/23. I assume that this is aka VIU1.

  • 47818 propels ex-Class 204 Driving Trailer, now test coach 'Caroline', towards Whitemoor Drove on 2Z02 Stratford Peterborough via Yarmouth and Lowestoft, 24/09/14.
  • 67003, top'n'tailed by 67012, heads an eastbound Serco test train past Welney Road LC, 08/02/06.
  • 67012 brings up the rear of a Serco test train headed by 67003 approaching the Wash Bridges past Welney Road LC, 08/02/06.
  • 73951 MALCOLM BRINDED passes March Station on 0Z11 Peterborough West Yard - Manningtree, 18/04/22. 66782 is booked to make 3 round trips from March, round Ely West Curve and back to March - ???

  • 97301, formerly 37100, owned by Network Rail, passes Badgeney Road AHB in tow of 37611 PEGASUS, owned and operated by Europhoenix Ltd., on a Cambridge - Derby RTC train, 28/06/17. 97301 had failed at Cambridge on test train the pervious week.

  • 968009, once 24142, now in use as a mobile power station, is stabled on March Depot on a foggy day in August 1983. 24142 had been withdrawn in July 1976 and transferred to departmental stock. As TDB968009 it lasted until September 1984.
  • 968021, BR's mobile load bank, converted from the erstwhile 84009, in Whitemoor Yard, 12/86. It had been to Cambridge testing the newly electrified lines there and was weekending at Whitemoor. It was scrapped in December 1995.
  • C2101, the LORAM Rail Grinding Train, stabled in March Up Yard, 08/10/03.
  • Class 100 GRCW 2-car DMU 975664/975637 rounds East Curve en route to Wisbech for a publicity gig as the 'Radio Train', 12/08/85. This set was known as the 'Stourton Saloon' and was based at Leeds as an Inspection Saloon. These had originally been DMBS 51122 and DTCL 56300 which became ADB975664 and ADB975637 for use as the Eastern Region General Manager's saloon. This pair were scrapped, in 1990, at Mayer-Newman's yard at Snailwell, in Cambridgeshire.

  • Class 121 - 960011, converted from DMU No.55025 for Netwrok Rail, passes west at Norwood Road AHB filming the rail network, 07/06/06.
  • Class 122 'Bubble Car' 55012 was passed into departmental stock on withdrawal as 977941 and converted to a route learner. It passed to Loadhaul ownership and thence to EWS. It is seen here passing Horsemoor on 29/01/98 on a Stansted Branch route learner, on hire to Central Trains, prior to the reopening of the Stansted Airport Branch. The unit was withdrawn in 1998 and is now preserved.
  • Class 153 311 approaches Badgeney Road AHB on 2Z10 Norwich CSD - Derby RTC, 01/03/22. This is the No.1 end which usually has all the video equipment on it but there's none there that I can see.

  • Class 153 311 passes Whitemoor Road AHB on 2Z10 Derby RTC - Manningtree Down Siding, 07/03/23. This one appears to have much less elaborate equipment than it's fellows.
  • Class 153 376 approaches Whitemoor Drove on 2Z10 Derby RTC - Norwich, 07/10/21. The unit is debranded EMR livery and has video cameras fitted on the big cab end, nothing on the other end. This ran yesterday with with 153 311. There does not seem to be return working. RTT has it down as Network Rail test diagram.
