GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) STEAM LOCOMOTIVES.
None of these pictures was taken by me. The Great Northern Railway of Ireland was formed in 1876 and in 1948 was absorbed into the UTA in 1948. Those lines it operated south of the border went to CIE. The 166 engines were divided 83 each between UTA and CIE. The railway was a pioneer of diesel traction but owned the last 4-4-0's built in Britain. These pictures are published for pleasure/information/research purposes only and are not for sale or copy under any circumstances. Information in captions has been researched as thoroughly as possible but its accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
