GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - BANBRIDGE.

  • CORAS IOMPAIR EIREANN TICKET - WEXFORD - Second Class Child Single to Rosslare Harbour, fare 1s 2d, changed by hand to 1s 5d - dated April 30th, 1964.
  • CORAS IOMPAIR EIREANN WAGON LABEL - KINGSCOURT - Unused wagon label stamped with Kingscourt as point of origin.
  • CORK KENT STATION - opened in 1893 as Glanmire Road, this was once one of 6 stations in Cork, several of them termini. It was renamed Kent in 1966 on the 50th Anniversary of the Easter Rising. Seen here with a train just arrived from Dublin.
  • CORK MOTIVE POWER DEPOT - Class 201 No.216 and Class 2600 DMU 2610 on depot in the pouring rain, 24/10/02.
  • DRUMREE STATION - located 16 miles north west of Dublin in County Meath, on the Dublin - Navan line, the station opened in 1862 and closed to passengers in January 1947 and goods traffic in June 1961 - seen here 09/53.
  • DUBLIN & SOUTH EASTEREN RAILWAY TICKET - KILLINEY & BALLYBRACK - One Bicycle accompanied by Passenger to any station on the D&SER up to 25 miles - fare 1s 0d.
  • DUBLIN & SOUTH EASTEREN RAILWAY TICKET - RATHMINES & RANELAGH - Ticket for a Dog accompanying a Passenger.
  • DUBLIN, WEXFORD & WATERFORD RAILWAY - STILLORGAN - First Class Return to Camolin.
  • DUBLIN AMIENS STREET - the small running shed with a selection of GNR(I) locos outside, seen in 1955. The shed is still operational at the renamed Dublin Connolly. Note rake of sugar beet wagons to left.
  • DUBLIN BROADSTONE STATION - the Dublin terminus of the Midland & Great Western Railway opened in June 1847, closed to public traffic in 1937, was put into use as a locomotive depot and finally closed in April 1961. It has since been in use as the headquarters of Bus Eireann.
  • DUBLIN CONNOLLY STATION - The little water tower and turntable, still both in use, in October 2002.
  • DUBLIN HARCOURT STREET STATION - Opened in 1859, the terminus of the Dublin and South Eastern Railway. The last train, seen here, left Harcourt Street at 4:25pm on 31 December 1958.
  • DUNDALK, NEWRY & GREENORE RAILWAY TICKET - OMEATH - First Class Child Single to blank destination. I guess very few of these were ever issued as Omeath is just a small village with a population even today of only about 500. The railway closed in 1951.
  • DUNDALK LOCOMOTIVE WORKS - engines on the scrapline at Dundalk in April 1955, Class Q No.133 centre, Class QL No.113 to right.
  • GALWAY MPD - Seen here in 1933, in Great Southern Railway days, with Class 372 Mogul No.374 standing before the depot.
  • GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - ANTRIM.
  • GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - BANBRIDGE.
  • GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - BELFAST.
  • GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - CHESTER - via Kingstown, later Dun Laoire and Holyhead.
  • GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (IRELAND) LUGGAGE/PARCELS LABEL - PORTSTEWART - A popular seaside resort on the Coleraine - Portrush branchline. Most of the journey would have been via the B&NCR and Antrim. The station closed in September 1963, reopened in March 1969 as Cromore and closed again in May 1988.
