  • CORAS IOMPAIR EIREANN TICKET - DUBLIN CONNOLLY - RPSI 'Ben Bulben' Rail Tour to Belfast - On September 26th, 1981, Class J15 (101) 0-6-0 No.184 ran as far as Mullingar where it was joined by Class S 4-4-0 No.171 SLIEVE GULLION, double-heading to Longford. No.184 then took the train to Ballymote, where No.171 rejoined and both went on to Sligo. On the next day, the train was double-headed from Sligo to Carrick-On-Shannon where No.184 came off. No.171 returned to Dublin alone, slipping to stand at Newcomen Junction and being hauled back to Connolly by diesel. Duly recovered, No.171 then hauled the train back to Belfast Central, for which section this ticket was valid. Note that the tour has been postponed from May 16/17th.

The train left Cork double-headed the next day as far as Mallow where they split and No.171 took one section to Belfast Central via Dublin Connolly. The other section with No.184 went via Charleville to Limerick Junction, where the train was reunited and No.184 returned home light engine.
