20022 and 20139 pass through Peterborough Station with 7M86 Harwich Parkeston Quay - Warrington Arpley via Whitemoor, 27/08/85.  Class 20's were quite unusual power on this train, which was often very heavy. 20022 was withdrawn in August 1988 and 20139 in May 1991.

  • 20011 heads this rather bizarre formation of Class 20's stabled at Crewe Station, 21/09/85. This loco was withdrawn in February 1987.
  • 20016 stabled in Nuneaton Goods Yard, 08/84. Single Class 20's were quite a rare sight in England. This loco was withdrawn in April 1995.
  • 20020 leaves the Down Yard at Toton Engine and Brake, 05/85. Single Class 20's were very unusual in England. Note the Motherwell 'Leaping Salmon' Depot Emblem. 20020 was withdrawn in October 1990 and is preserved at the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway.
  • 20022 and 20139 pass through Peterborough Station with 7M86 Harwich Parkeston Quay - Warrington Arpley via Whitemoor, 27/08/85.  Class 20's were quite unusual power on this train, which was often very heavy. 20022 was withdrawn in August 1988 and 20139 in May 1991.
  • 20032 and 20063 pass through Heckington on 1E82 SSO Derby - Skegness, 25/06/88, with plenty of 'Chopper' fans on board it seems. 20032 was withdrawn in April 1993 and 20063 was withdrawn in May 1991.
  • 20032 is withdrawn from Doncaster Works for transfer to Barrow Hill for Harry Needle Railways, 04/09/02. The loco was used as a source of spare parts and finally broken up in 2012.
  • 20034 and 20073 sit at the head of a rake of empty HTV's. Toton Yard, 05/85. 20034 was withdrawn in October 1990 and 20073 in December 1993.
  • 20034 leads 20042 past Thorpe Culvert Signal Box on 1E48 Skegness-Sheffield, 09/88. 20034 was withdrawn in October 1990 and 20042 became DRS 20312 in September 1998 and is now in store.
  • 20063 and 20032 head west through Hubberts Bridge on 1M40 SSO from Skegness, 25/06/88. 20063 was withdrawn in May 1991 and shipped to France to work for CFD in 1992 as No.2002. It is now preserved at the Battlefield Line. 20032 was withdrawn in April 1993.
  • 20063 and 20032 sit in Ely Station waiting for the road back to March, 08/08/88. The bare signal pole controlled entry to the loop beyond the signalbox. 20063 was withdrawn in May 1991 and shipped to France to work for CFD in 1992 as No.2002. It is now preserved at the Battlefield Line. 20032 was withdrawn in April 1993.
  • 20069 and 20051 have just brought in a rake of loaded HTV's to Toton Up Yard and will now collect a rake of empties from the Down Yard, 05/85. 20069 was withdrawn in May 1991 and preserved whilst 20051 was withdrawn in February 1991.
  • 20069, preserved as D8069, forms the largest red lamp in the world on the rear of 31538, heading the 1750 Wymondham - Dereham, 14/03/03.
  • 20069, preserved as D8069, sits in the freight sidings at Dereham, failed, 14/03/03. D8069 entered traffic in June 1961 and was withdrawn as 20069 in February 1981. It was reinstated in June 1982 and finally withdrawn in May 1991 from Thornaby. It arrived on the MNR in Junne 1992.

  • 20073 and 20188 head west through Heckington on 1M48 SSO Skegness - Derby, 25/06/88. 20073 was withdrawn in December 1993 and 20188 in January 1990 and is now preserved on the Watercress Line.
  • 20075 SIR WILLIAM COOKE, in Rail Technical Services livery, heads north through Crewe Station with a tunnel gauging train, 01/08/96. In March 1998, the locowas rebuilt as DRS 20309 and is currently in store.
  • 20078 and 20047 head a rake of empty HTV's whilst, behind them, 20016 and 20001 have brought in a rake of tanks, 08899 in the foreground, 05/85.
  • 20081 and 20085 approach Peterborough Station with the Derby St Marys - Kings Lynn Stone train, 25/10/84. 20081 is in store at Long Marston and 20085 was withdrawn in March 1991 and unusually cut up at Castle Donington Power Station.
  • 20105 and 20047 head a loaded MGR train at Langwith, 20/09/88.
  • 20119 dumped in the Training Compound at Toton Depot, 13/08/96. This engine was withdrawn 06/92 and survived a further 17 years before being scrapped.
