RAIL TOURS AND OPEN DAYS
OPEN DAY - STRATFORD DIESEL DEPOT, 1979 - Stratford was always a difficult depot to bunk because of the amount of wasteland - it was difficult to find anything to hide behind! I did manage it on a number of occasions in the late '60's/early '70's though. This official Open Day was held on July 14th, 1979, and was well attended if this ticket number is anything to go by. The Liverpool Street Pilot usually wore an approximation of GER livery. The Class 31/0's were all on the brink of withdrawal, half of the class having gone already.
Present were:-
