• OPEN DAY - TINSLEY DIESEL DEPOT - Held on June 15th, 1980, Tinsley was one of the 'modernisation' depots and had only been open for 15 years. It's allocation largely consisted of freight locos and shunters, including the 3 Class 13's. I presume the DMU's ran the shuttle trains to/from Sheffield. Stock present on the day was:-
• OPEN DAY - TOTON DIESEL DEPOT, 1970 - I never found Toton a difficult depot to get round, as long as you weren't too obvious about what you were doing. Light summer evening seemed to be good time to have a go. I can find no details of what locos were present at this event except for D411 and D7521. As 50011, this was the first Class 50 to be withdrawn in February 1987. D7521 was the supposed accident victim in a re-railing demonstration by Toton's 75-ton steam crane.
 • OPEN DAY - TOTON EWS DIESEL DEPOT, 1998 (1) - August Bank Holiday Weekend 1998 - What a great day out! I took my grandson who was 4 and met up with brother and his son from Middlesbrough and we spent the whole day touring round. I'm not normally much into this sort of thing, enjoying railways for the solitude they offer me, but I was prepared to make an exception. My grandson loved it because we went all the way by train, including on one of the shuttles from Derby.
