  • OPEN DAY - TOTON EWS DIESEL DEPOT, 1998 - August Bank Holiday Weekend 1998 - 47776 RESPECTED on the rear of a Toton Depot - Derby shuttle headed by 47766 from the EWS Toton Depot Open Day, 29/08/98. This engine was withdrawn in 04/04 and is currently in store at Carnforth.
  • OPEN DAY - TOTON EWS DIESEL DEPOT, 1998 - August Bank Holiday Weekend 1998 - 50044 EXETER, posing in it's pre-TOPS number as D444, on display at the EWS Toton Depot Open Day, 29/08/98. This engine was withdrawn in 01/91 and is now preserved.
  • OPEN DAY - TOTON EWS DIESEL DEPOT, 1998 - August Bank Holiday Weekend 1998 - 73131 - EE Class 73 Bo-Bo ED - built 07/66 by English Electric as E6038 - 1973 to 73 131 - withdrawn 09/03 - seen here at Toton Open Day, 08/98.

  • OPEN DAY - TOTON EWS DIESEL DEPOT, 1998 - August Bank Holiday Weekend 1998 - 87101 STEPHENSON on display at the EWS Toton Depot Open Day, 29/08/98. This engine was withdrawn in 04/99 and cut up in 02/02.
  • OPEN DAY - WHITEMOOR YARD - Page 1 of the 4 page information booklet put out by Network Rail for the Whitemoor Open Day on May 25th, 2004. The organisers were very surprised by the popularity of this event. They had expected a few hundred locals to attend and were dismayed by the thousands who turned up. I spoke to some lads who had come from Gloucester by minibus.

  • OPEN DAY - WILLESDEN EXHIBITION, INTERNATIONAL RAILWAY CONGRESS, LONDON - May 26th to 29th, 1954 - Held in the roundhouse at Willesden Steam Depot, this exhibition showcased the latest developments in BR motive power and rolling stock, including examples of all the Standard steam loco classes and early diesel locos and DMU's plus a number of foreign exhibits - not bad for a bob!
  • OPEN DAY - WOLVERTON WORKS, 1988 - This Open Weekend was to celebrate Wolverton Works' 150th Anniversary on October 1st/2nd, 1988. 08011 was the oldest loco in service at that time on BR and based at the oldest railway works still in operation in the world. The class 58 and 90 were almost new.<br />
