REGIE VOOR MARITIEM TRANSPORT, Belgium.
The RMT was owned by the Belgian Government from the outset in 1846, operating passenger and mail services from Ostende and Zeebrugge in conjunction with British Railway Companies using mainly Kentish ports. Co-operation with Sealink ended in 1986. From 1986 to 1987, RMT worked with Townsend Thoresen, switching it's UK port to Ramsgate, and then with P&O when that company took over Townsend Thoresen, unitl 1984. The service then operated as Oostende Lines until RMT ceased operating in 1997.
