  2. WORLD WAR 2 STANDARD BUILT MERCHANT SHIPS

OTHER WW2 UNITED STATES STANDARD TYPES

Many types of standard merchant vessel were built in the USA during World War 2, many to US Navy requirements. Generally speaking, these were of much better design and build quality than the mass produced 'Liberty' and 'Victory' ships and hundreds were sold to commercial companies after the War whilst many more served with US Navy in support roles, some still in service and a number in the Reserve Fleet. These pictures are published for pleasure/information/research purposes only and are not for sale or copy under any circumstances. Information in captions has been researched as thoroughly as possible but it accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
